True Commitment

It’s hard to find commitment these days in society and in the church. People want things to happen but in the end no one seems to want to pay the price to see it take place. Not a day goes by that places likeHollywoodmake the headlines with marriages filing of divorce because of irreconcilable differences. What’s that mean? I can’t love you any more because you do things different from me and I don’t get my way. REALLY? Have we moved so far from God that marriage is put aside for co-habitation of all sorts simply because the price to commit to one person for one lifetime is too great? Thank God my great-grandparents and yours didn’t feel that way or else there would be no heritage or family tree worth anything.

Scripture says that many are called but few are chosen who will accept the mandate to serve God and build his Kingdom. It’s time for the people of God to start being people for God and keep their lives open to pioneer new things instead of just settling for the status quo of good programs and routine church. Where is the cry to support the local church by becoming the local church and reaching out to a world one by one to help? Why is it we have to be entertained for no more than an hour with the best messages, music and media just to keep the doors open and have to be careful not to speak about lifestyles contrary to God’s way for fear of turning people off when many of these same people tune into risqué TV shows almost every night and watch sin at is best laughing and talking about it the next day like it’s all good? Hello? NO wonder we wonder why God is not hearing our prayers and moving in America like he once did. No wonder why the Muslim & Hindu nations hate our religion and call us infidels.

The REAL gospel is still being preached across the globe and many by the thousands are discovering what America used to embrace that there is a high price to serve God. It’s not enough to get your fire insurance before the Rapture or have your heavenly admission ticket punched in time to miss out on Hell. Speaking of which, less than half of Americans even think Hell is a real place to be shunned any more and that “everyone will go to heaven” because God is love and he won’t let us go there. Better read the B-I-B-L-E again. Except a man be born again he cannot enter theKingdomofHeaven Jesusonce said. Being a Christian actually means being Christ like, not attending Christian churches. The two are not mutually inclusive. There is a price to pay for living righteous and it begins with a greater commitment than what most are willing to give. It’s time to make a choice to be hot or cold and not lukewarm. At least God can deal with either extreme. It’s the in-between he has a problem with and per his words he would literally vomit out his mouth over their commitment. Let us not give God a hangover for our living. If you’re going to be a believer then believe. If not then leave; that is leave church alone and search out God until you find him at the place where you can commit your life to follow him in the way he thinks is best. The Kingdom is still the pearl of great price. Forsake all to find it and commit all to keep it. “He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep, to gain what he cannot lose.”
